Step 1
Toast the bread. Cut the sausage in half lengthways.

Season the steak with salt and pepper, place the frying pan on the stove with the butter and fry the steak on both sides. Set aside.
Step 3
Assemble the Francesinha in the following order: slice of bread, ham, sausage, steak, slice of bread, and then cheese. Set aside.
Step 4
Sauté the chopped onion in olive oil, add the chopped garlic, chilli and bay leaf.
Step 5
Add the tomatoes, beer, wine, water, Worcestershire sauce and beef stock cube. Let boil for 10 minutes. Season with salt.
Step 6
Dissolve the cornstarch in cold water and stir it in. Finally, add the Port wine and boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and blend with a hand blender.
Step 7
Pour 3 tbsp of the sauce over the Francesinha and cook in the oven at 180°C on grill mode for 5 minutes.
Step 8
Pour the remaining sauce over the Francesinha.
Step 9
Fry the egg in a pan with the olive oil and place on top of the Francesinha.
